Henry Plant was an industrialist in the Tampa area during the Glided Age. One of his major projects was the construction of the Tampa Hotel which was a major attraction for celebrities such as Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt and others.
This image of sunflowers took second place in the Tecumseh Land Trust Pollinator Art Show.
My image of sunflowers took second place in the professional category in the Tecumseh Land Trust’s Pollinator Contest, so I was invited to participate in the Pollinator Art Show. Getting an image ready for the show, though, was a bit more of a challenge than I expected.
Opening reception on Sunday, July 16th from 5:00-7:00pm at The Winds Cafe, 215 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs, OH 45387. The show runs from July 3rd through September 3rd.
I decided that a metal print would be a good solution. The thought was shiny metal would complement the bright yellows, greens and blues in the image. While I’ve not done a substantial number of prints on a metal surface, the ones I have done turned out spectacularly. Continue reading
